7. Cookies & consent management

Our Service uses cookies and similar technologies (including local storage) to operate and improve the website. We distinguish between necessary cookies (always on) and non‑essential categories that you can control via the banner/settings:

  • Necessary: required for core functionality (e.g., security, load balancing, session continuity). These do not require consent and are used under our legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
  • Functional: remember your choices (e.g., language, cookie preferences). Enabled only if you consent.
  • Performance: help keep the site fast and reliable (e.g., error tracking, load times). Enabled only if you consent.
  • Analytics: anonymous statistics (page views, clicks) to improve content and UX. Enabled only if you consent.
  • Advertisement: measuring or personalising marketing. Enabled only if you consent.
  • Others: technologies that are still being classified; may come from embedded content. Enabled only if you consent.

You can manage your choices at any time via the Cookies link in the footer (opens the cookie settings modal). Your preferences are stored in local storage under the key ovoo_cc_v1. Whenever you change your choices, the website emits a browser event ovoo:consentchange so that non‑essential tools are activated only if permitted.

If you click Accept all in the banner, all non‑essential categories will be enabled. If you choose Reject non‑essential, only necessary cookies will remain active.

You can also control cookies at the browser level by deleting or blocking them; however, doing so may impact the website’s functionality.

8. Data Security

We apply technical and organizational measures to protect processed personal data against threats and secure them against disclosure to unauthorized persons. In particular, we use connection encryption via SSL certificate.
